BMGA Fellows Program 2023
BMGA Foundation presents the 2023 BMGA Fellows Program, a social impact initiative designed to narrow the gender skills gap among university graduates in Africa and Asia. It is a six-month experiential learning program designed to equip young women with the knowledge, access, and resources required to gain fundamental employability skills that strengthen their marketability for a successful career in the 21st Century.
Eligibility
- Young women from Africa and Asia.
- Final-year university students and early career professionals with not more than three (3) years of post-university work experience.
- Excellent academic record: Applicants must have graduated top of their class. Final-year students must have a current CGPA equivalent to a B+ [UK grade point system].
- Applicants must speak, write, and read English with proficiency.
- Applicants must have regular access to the internet.
This fully virtual program offers high-level professional development courses, mentorship from graduate students in top global universities, coaching from senior-level executives with international experience, and life skills designed to prepare young women for the future of work.
Furthermore, The Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) is an official partner for the BMGA Fellows Program and previous cohorts of the program have been supported by Giants of Africa, UN Women, African Society of Cambridge University (ASCU), University of Pretoria, University of Lagos, Oxford Africa Society, University of Ibadan, EI Skills Group, Storywork International, Gallup, Imperial College Business School, University College London, Sterling Bank, Women at Risk International Foundation (WARIF), and Femme Minty, just to name a few.
Once selected, participants go through an intensive six-month learning experience that utilizes modern technological tools and resources to aid transformational learning. The program consists of modules led by industry experts, professors, and thought leaders from top institutions across the world. With the use of live classes, group discussions, and other learning tools, participants are able to gain new insights into the skills required for the dynamic business environment.
Some of the benefits include courses taught by renowned professors and industry experts, mentorship pairings with graduate students and professionals from top global universities such as the University of Cambridge and Imperial College London, one-on-one career coaching from global executives with international experience, fire-side conversations with world-class leaders as they share their blueprint to career success, and access to the invaluable Alumni Network with individuals living in over twelve (12) countries worldwide for further learning, networking, and lifetime support.
