Wildlife Conservation Trust (WCT) Small Grant
Deadline 15th February 2018
WCT-Small Grants (WCT-SG) is an initiative of Wildlife Conservation Trust (WCT) aimed at encouraging and strengthening on-ground conservation of endangered flora and fauna in India. WCT-SG gives an opportunity to budding and practicing conservationists to pursue their passion of protecting endangered species and their habitats.
WCT is now accepting applications for WCT-SG 2018-19 Phase I. Please find below additional details for your reference:
WCT recognises that community participation is an important ingredient for long-term conservation action and we encourage both individuals and organisations to consider the same while designing their proposals.
The Wildlife Conservation Trust (WCT) currently works in over 130 national parks and sanctuaries of India across 23 states, covering 82% of 50 tiger reserves and 18% of 733 nature reserves. With over 3.5 million people living inside tiger reserves and several hundred million dependent on natural ecosystems, we cannot separate communities from conservation. Thus, WCT lays equal emphasis on wildlife conservation and community development.
The communities living in and around India’s forests depend heavily on forest produce to supplement their income. We help impart vocational training to young people and co-ordinate with over 100 job providers to find them gainful employment, thereby reducing their dependency and negative impact on forests.
The final list of selected projects will be announced on the WCT website www.wildlifeconservationtrust.org on March 15, 2018.
Proposals should be emailed to smallgrants@wctindia.org. No application should be more than 20 MB in size. A readily downloadable docket containing the application form, guidelines and FAQs can be found at http://wildlifeconservationtrust.org/SmallGrants/
