Summer school for filmmakers in Russia

Students in film direction, cinematography, animation, multimedia and computer graphics can participate in this summer school.

The documentary session of VGIK International Summer School, organized by the Russian State University of Cinematography, will take place July 1 to 21 in Krasnodar, Russia.

The school program includes shooting-oriented workshops, tutorials and training carried out by prominent European and Russian filmmakers. The working language of the school is English.

The organizers will provide accommodations, meals and local transportation, as well as the necessary equipment during filming sessions for selected participants.

The aim of the VGIK International Summer School is to acquire additional knowledge and training in the profession, to develop academic and creative film production contacts between the students of film schools from different countries and to exchange the knowledge and experience in the field of the film education.

Within the framework of the summer school the students of Direction, Cinematography, Animation & Multimedia, or Computer Graphics departments of film schools will get to attend master-classes of European and Russian filmmakers, present and discuss their stories on the proposed theme, explore the area of the shooting, receive an expertise and professional advise of the professors at all stages of film production, shoot a 10-minute documentary film on specific theme.

The deadline for submissions is May 10.
