Apply for Japan Foundation’s Grant Program for Enhancing People-to-People Exchange!

Japan Foundation is accepting applications for “Grant Program for Promotion of Cultural Collaboration” to generate new cultures together within Asia.

Grants are provided to successful collaborative projects conducted by organizations and professionals in Japan and ASEAN countries.

Grant Coverage

The grant will be provided to cover a portion of the expense from a maximum of three categories chosen from below.

  • Traveling expense (international and long-distance domestic travel) and accommodation
  • Venue and equipment use
  • Translation, interpretation and honoraria for lecturers
  • Preparation of materials, reports, PR materials, etc.
  • Carriage (baggage/freight)

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be organizations based in ASEAN countries or Japan.

Eligible Projects

  • Project contents: Applications of collaborative projects –the majority of which involve ASEAN and Japan participants– as well as projects that plan to disseminate their achievements are accepted. These projects must work on human resources development, network construction, strengthening of the bases of exchange, co-production and joint research initiatives, in the fields of culture and arts, sports, or intellectual exchange.
  • The projects must:
    • Be a collaboration or mutual exchange between two or more countries.
    • Involve at least one Japanese organization or individual.
    • Generate a tangible and concrete output of its achievement.
    • Have secured at least 30 % or more of the total project budget from organizations other than the Asia Center.

Eligible Countries: Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Viet Nam, and Japan.
