World Health Organization (WHO) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Communication Officer in New Delhi, India. The duration of this post is 1 year.
The primary role of WHO is to direct and coordinate international health within the United Nations system.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Communication Officer will perform the following-
- Assist PIA in preparing advocacy products for WHO campaigns and meetings – such as posters, pamphlets, newsletter, factsheets, video films, radio messages, photo stories etc.
- Support PIA in media management – by drafting media talking points and media responses, in coordination with the technical units and WCOs.
- Support PIA in media relations – by making and maintaining contacts with editors of leading media outlets in the Region for placement of Regional Director’s op-eds.
- Assist PIA in organizing media events – press/technical briefings for media and coordinate between media and WHO experts to ensure timely, efficient provision of information to the press and participate in WHO-related conferences.
- Any other duties as assigned.
- Submit an assignment report on completion of assignment (mandatory).
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Post Graduate Degree / Diploma in Mass Communication, Journalism or Public Relations or a related field.
- Field experience of working as correspondent / journalist; writing articles, stories and opinion editorials
- Experience of working with international media would be preferable.
- Expert knowledge of English.
