Communication Officer at WHO, New Delhi, India

World Health Organization (WHO) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Communication Officer in New Delhi, India. The duration of this post is 1 year.

The primary role of WHO is to direct and coordinate international health within the United Nations system.

Key Jobs Responsibilities

The Communication Officer will perform the following-
  • Assist PIA in preparing advocacy products for WHO campaigns and meetings – such as posters, pamphlets, newsletter, factsheets, video films, radio messages, photo stories etc.
  • Support PIA in media management – by drafting media talking points and media responses, in coordination with the technical units and WCOs.
  • Support PIA in media relations – by making and maintaining contacts with editors of leading media outlets in the Region for placement of Regional Director’s op-eds.
  • Assist PIA in organizing media events – press/technical briefings for media and coordinate between media and WHO experts to ensure timely, efficient provision of information to the press and participate in WHO-related conferences.
  • Any other duties as assigned.
  • Submit an assignment report on completion of assignment (mandatory).

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
  • Post Graduate Degree / Diploma in Mass Communication, Journalism or Public Relations or a related field.
  • Field experience of working as correspondent / journalist; writing articles, stories and opinion editorials
  • Experience of working with international media would be preferable.
  • Expert knowledge of English.
