Andrew E. Rice Award in International Development
The Society for International Development (SID) is inviting nominations for the 2018 Andrew E. Rice Award for Leadership and Innovation by a Young Professional in International Development (Rice Award). The winner should be an individual exemplifying leadership and innovation, and demonstrating tremendous promise for advancement in the field of international development. He/she should recognize the importance of international development as a means of servicing those in need and will work towards sustainable, people-centered development.
The winner will receive the Rice Award at the Society for International Development’s 2018 Annual Conference in Washington, DC, on 31 May 2018.
Benefits
The Winner of the Rice Award will receive a cash prize of US$1,000, a plaque, a 1-year honorary membership to SID-Washington and the opportunity to present his/her work at an upcoming SID-Washington event.
Eligibility
Applicants must be 22 to 32 years of age, with at least 2 years of experience as a volunteer or paid young professional in international development and demonstrate exceptional commitment to improving the lives of people in developing countries. They need to be able to accept in person the Rice Award at SID-W’s 2018 Annual Conference on 13 May 2018 or able to provide a pre-recorded video acceptance speech to be shown at the Annual Conference.
